So my flight has now been delayed like three times. This latest time we are on the plane I am expexting to go and then am told that we have to wait an hour to leave means at this rate I am never going to get home. It also means from the time of landing in LA to the time I will get to SF there will have been seven or more hours passed. I’m not going to lie I am super not thrilled since I have been travelling so long and I am sitting next to this old man that can’t sit still makes mean comments and keeps giving me mean looks. I am not looking forward to the eventual times I will need to get passed him for the restroom. I am so tired of waiting to go home and really at this point I just want to eat and be in my house. My current feelingd are I hate LA for making me sit here so long. May kill the man next to me and he took over the seat next to me with his stupid stuff. If either of us diserve that extra seat its me. I have been travelling longer. I hate him. Its going to be a long flight
Hello All, Well i am officially no longer in Australia but instead in the United States of America. Getting to the airport was pretty damn easy and getting through Security in Australia as always was a breeze. This morning basically i woke up and finished the final touches of packing and then basically saw Sara was online and so i forced her awake long enough for her to open the door and let me nap in her bed for another 20 minutes or so. Then we both decided that we were hungary and so we we went to hoochie mama’s (sadly for my last time) and got banana bread and i got a chai latte. Then i finished up my packing and headed to Sleven to meet up with Margaret to head to the airport. i got the funniest stares on the street walking my like 4 blocks i needed to with all my bags and such. Made some temporary friends on the walk asking me where i was going and such. Margaret and I went to the airport and sadly we were flying different people so we had to leave each other. I got through security and checked my bags and then i proceeded to wait for my flight since we weren’t allowed into the area until 2 with our flight at 3. So i ate my mini burrito (i wish i had gotten a bigger one - i also wish i had waited to eat my burrito on the plane :( ) anyways so then i was finally able to board the plane and i had an ‘window’ (wall) on and exit though i didn’t have too too much extra legroom because the emergency slide jetted out in front of me and i wasn’t allowed to put my feet on it and such but i had legroom if i turned at a slight angle. I sat next to a nice couple and i attempted sleep for most of the flight though it was difficult cause i was right next to the bathrooms and every time this certain bathroom door would open it would just flood me with light. Blah. After a lovely 13 hours in which all i wanted to be was off a plane we finally landed in LA. We had to wait for the paramedics to get some guy off and then finally i was free. Then came customs - that was so annoying. So basically people didn’t fill out their customs forms on the plane and customs was allowing them to just sit there and fill it out holding up the entire line so it was taking forever. Finally i saw the first customs guy and he was like look at me and then told me i have beautiful eyes and was like where’s walnut creek and i said an hour inland from SF and he was like and here i was about to ask you out and then he asked where i was coming from and such and it was pretty awkward cause i said i was happy to be home but sad to have left Australia and he was like oh its because you had a boyfriend in Australia and i was like no and he just didn’t listen to me. Then i picked up my baggage went through like 4 more customs people. and finally got to drop my baggage off again and find my new gate to head up to SF. I had to go through security AGAIN which sucked because it was way more annoying than Australia’s security and by 11:10 i finally made it to my gate after landing at like 9:35. yeah. I found a starbucks and got a vent gingerbread latte - it was a little too coffeey for my liking but i persisted in order to get the caffeine to stay up so i can be at the correct sleep schedule.
oh yay internets waiting at LAX airport
so today was my last full day in Sydney. The past few days i have just been working on packing up my room and such. But today i went to Luna Park with Sara and then we went to the Weekend Markets at the Rocks. I came back and did laundry - and did some more packing then Sara and I met up again - ordered in Thai food for dinner then went to Max Brenners for dessert. Sara got a brownie with ice cream and i got mint hot chocolate.i can’t believe that i leave tomorrow its kind of freaky and totally weird about how fast it has all gone. Its so completely odd how fast it all went

things i forgot to add in my last update of things i learned: in Germany people wear engagement rings on the right hand.
And so a group of us were talking and this girl Sara told us how she was attacked by a Great White Shark in Botany Bay while Kayaking and then had the Great White chase her for a little bit. Tanja was attacked by a Dingo - luckily just her pants and Caroline was attacked by two 11 year old boys who stole her friend’s purse with all her friends shit. It was absolutely ridiculous about all the things that happened and here i thought getting pneumonia was bad. I’ve had it easy.
also sadly i still haven’t seen a wild kangaroo or koala or wallaby.
Hi Friends i can’t believe i will be back in the USA on Sunday it is so soon and i am kinda freaking out. I mean i am excited to go home but i love Sydney to the extreme and everything about Australia i mean, it is so awesome.
Saturday 12th - So on Saturday i woke up early and took the bus to Jaci’s building, where she, David and I caught a Taxi to the airport. The flight was about 3 hours long but not too too bad. I mean it was a ton of fun to hang out with them. We got to alice Springs and checked into our hostel Annie’s Place and then we went out to get money and go to coles. IT WAS SO FUCKING HOT. Central Australia is so freaking hot that i couldn’t stand it. Anyways we walked around and then sat by the pool and tanned. Then we got dinner - Jaci and I shared a Margherita Pizza and it was a ton of fun. Then we saw the sun set and went to bed freakishly early since we had to be up by 5 am the next morning. It was hard to sleep cause some creepy guy was farting ickily and then there was loud music going non - stop and like it was crazy but i got to sleep.

Sunday 13th - The next morning we woke up so early and got breakfast and waited for the bus to take us on our tour. We got on our bus and i ended up loving everyone. There were 5 Americans - Jaci, David, Sara, Tim and I. So its a fucking small world. Tim is from Marin. There were 3 Germans - Tanja, Caroline and Elena, A spaniard - Eva, 2 Japanese - Aye and Yuki, 2 Czech women and 3 French women. Anyways our driver Leigh was crazy and amazing and funny and so so so talkative. So we had like a 5 hour drive and we stopped at a camel farm like an hour in and we rode camels for a little bit. Tanja and i shared Ed. Anyways we drove up to our campsite and had lunch while Leigh picked up Elena, the Czech women and the frenchies so then we went to the Olgas and we did a 2km hike in and out and Leigh told us about tucker that we could use to survive in the bush. Then we watched the sun set and it was beautiful we then had dinner - Kangaroo (i tried a nibble - i still don’t like red meat) and camel sausage. Then it was bed time. Oh yeah and during our drive up i saw a juvenile wild dingo!

Uluru

Sunset
Monday 14th - So we woke up at 4 am to see the sun rise over Uluru and it was really really pretty. Anyways so starting at 8 am we did a base walk around Uluru and it was amazing but like 11km and it was so long and my legs were tired and there was only a bathroom at the beginning and the end and since it was so warm we had to drink a ton of water. It was a good walk and i got to hug Uluru which was pretty fucking awesome. Sorry i am swearing so much. Anyways we then did another 1 km walk while Leigh told us more about the culture and then we drove back to the campsite to have lunch and then went to a different camel farm where i got to see a baby camel! We then started another long drive to our new campsite at Kings Canyon. we saw Mt. Connor which is a flat top mountain and saw a salt bed which was pretty awesome. We got upgraded from our swag because of the possibility of rain and because the tour people were deciding to be nice so we slept in tent/cabin like things and then we had dinner- spaghetti bolanaise which i didn’t realize had beef in it and then our tour guide found out that they didn’t tell him and he felt so bad that it started to make me feel bad. Then i went to bed early again since once again we had to get up early the next day it was pretty intense to tell the truth.

Sunrise at Uluru

Tuesday 15th - Again we woke up at 4 and and headed over to Kings Canyon for a 11 km walk again which was really cool but it took like 4 and a half hours again with the only bathrooms being at the beginning and end. So after hiking at Kings Canyon we had chicken burgers for lunch and started our very very long drive to Alice Springs. It was fun though. And then last night we had dinner together - the majority of my tour and Leigh and some drinks.

my and Leigh our Tour Guide
Wednesday 16th - Today i woke up at 7:45 which was really nice and went to the airport by 10. Majority of the tour was at the airport which was fun so we all hung out together. My flight was delayed which super sucked but i got back to Sydney and it is nice to be back even though i have to start packing tomorrow.
So during my tour i travelled in bus over 1500 km which was ridiculous. But it was fun the German girls taught me some German phrases: basically that mean i coming (the dirty way) and swallow bitch. Also learned malo puta in spanish - bad whore. Hahahaha yeah. I had a really really good time and i learned so much about aboriginal culture which was so cool. Leigh was awesome.
Also fun fact that Leigh told us is that the Grand Canyon isn’t a Canyon instead is a gorge. Also i am pretty sure Leigh was a salesman in a past life since you know he was so funny about how he gave us options and also really good at it.
Hello World. I am back in the United States very very soon like 9 days soon
Thursday 10th - So lets talk about how finals in Australia are giving me AP test false backs. You have an assigned seat - 10 minute reading time - 2 hours to answer 2 questions. you have a proctor walking around, you can’t get up for water or bathroom without raising your hand and having the proctor growth you. All in all i am convinced that i am having AP test PTSD from these tests. Also i just don’t appreciate the hand cramps from having to write so much. So as of right now one final done, one more to go. The first final went alright i suppose but i am just not in the mood for finals.
Friday 11th - So i had my second and last final of the semester today! on 11/11/11. I sadly missed the first 11:11 cause i was trying to get everything for my final ready and such. Tomorrow i leave for Alice Springs until Wednesday and i can’t wait at all. It is going to be da bomb. i also ran to the store to get sunscreen, i mailed some letters and did some laundry before i go to Alice Springs tomorrow. Ahh so tonight was so so so awesome. I met up with my second cousin Amy Handelman and we went to the Blackbird Cafe and got fish and chips for dinner along with a drink. Then we walked from darling harbor to the rocks where we found the nighttime markets which was really awesome and we then walked around the area some more walked up to the Opera House and then walked back to hyde park. It was a ton of walking but it was amazing. She is such an amazing person and so easy to talk to and we got along really well. Tonight might have been one of the best nights i have had in a long time. I am really really glad that i went out.
So as you guys know i had to be up at 4 am to register for classes. So at about 3:40 i heard a crash into my window of such and looked up and there was this bird sitting there. I was looking at then i tried to make noises and hit the window to scare it away but it didn’t move at all. I am pretty sure it was a robot to spy on me or planning my death. I am so not fond of this bird and it was terrifying - all i can think about is that if my window had been open then i would have had to deal with a bird in my room and i probably would have ended up crying and freaking out and such. It would have been horrible.
Well here is the bird that tried to attack my window and would not move for anything.
When i was in Whitsunday the day before i left there was this bird that looked like it got hit by something it was really sad but also really scary looking and it was right in front of the stairs i needed to use to get down to the store. As i moved towards it, it didn’t move and it was horrible. I was so upset and i wish that i didn’t have to deal with it and so i ran down the stairs convinced the bird was going to follow me.

it looks so sad but it was so scary.
Anyways there are also pigeons and such like when i tried to finger paint one of them and then it got all its birdy friends to turn on me making it so i had to run away if i didn’t want to be attacked by birds. And there are the giant bully birds that take my seat from earlier the semester.
I really with the birds were scared of me like i am scared of them at least we would have a mutual fright and avoid each other. Unfortunately the birds here are very brave and i am convinced they are going to attack me.
So lets see what is going on with my life. On Friday Laurence and I studied for our test and so that was good and then i spent the weekend trying to study my hardest but it was really difficult because i am trying my hardest but i am also getting so tired of looking at he same time.
Oh so i registered yesterday at 4 am and that was tough and i just realized i registered for a class that i don’t have the prereqs for and so i emailed the professor and i am frustrated that i didn’t realize it was instructor permission or at least 2 ASIA classes. blah.
So yesterday Melanie, Sara and i decided to do the Bondi to Coogee Walk it was beautiful and the timing was great because when we left it was sunny and we got to see Sculpture by the sea this yearly art exhibition thing and after that we hung out on the beach - sara and i went for a swim. Then we tried to find this place Ollies for linner (dunch?) and it took us foreverrrrrrrrr to find it. So we finally did and we then headed back to the apartments and when we got into the city it was POURING. It was so weird. By the time we got off the bus it wasn’t really raining anymore but right as we were about to cross the street it starting pouring again. so sara and i took off our towels from around our waists and then held them above our head and ran. I then spent the rest of the night in bed listening to lightening and thunder and such. trying to study.
